Top Tips For F.E.A.R.

This tip is simple to do and only takes a couple of minutes complete and it will save you time whenever you join our servers.

Copy your current desktop F.E.A.R. MP/Combat shortcut and rename it to reflect your favourite server name (A RAW recruits Server of course).

Edit the properties of this desktop shortcut (right click shortcut, left click Properties) and insert the following to the end of the Target line after leaving a space. Only insert what's in bold.

+join 217.146.84.136:27888

(change IP and port to suite your favourite server)

For Customs Server replace 27888 with 27889, DM 27890

An example of what the target line should now look like with the new text added in the pic on the right. Your game may be installed differently though showing a different path.

To join the server, just doubleclick the appropriate shortcut.

So long as the server is not full, which you will of course have checked beforehand using our stats page, you will go straight in ... no menus to refresh.

Ten Top Tips for New Players.

Ok here are RAW's top ten tips for all you people that may be new to the MP side of the game.

1. Get a Laser Mouse, if you have one already then lower your mouse sensitivity.

Why? Because it will give you better aim

2. Find a server like ours with a Low Ping. (Delay time in ms)

Why? Because you will get a faster reaction time with the game running a lot smoother.

3. Create a real player name, instead of using 'Player' as your name.

Why? Well for one, nothing shows people faster that you are a new to the game then having your name set to 'Player'. Plus it's nice to create an online identity by using a unique name and getting to know other players.

4. Don't rush out into supporting fire.

Why? Because it's asking for it!

5. Concentrate on Headshots.

Why? Because these do the most damage.

6. When you see Med kits and Armour pickups, pick them up and use them.

Why? Because they are there for a reason. They can make all the difference between life and death. Too many times's I see people spawn-in and walk right past them.

7. Try different guns and different methods of attack.

Why? Because depending on how many people there are and the map your playing you will want to change up your weapon. Using one weapon over and over will only hurt your skill and overall score. Find the ones that are most effective for the server, map and people you're playing against. It will make a big difference.

8. If you get pissed off at someone, don't call them a cheater, noob, looser etc.

Why? Because it shows just how immature you are and is generally poor sportsmanship. If you can't keep it together to play a public game especially a team based game without accusing someone of being a cheat or a looser, then you shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.

9. Know the rules of the server!

Why? Because if you don't, you may just find yourself being banned for not abiding by them. Such as the case when you excessively team kill your own team mates on a FF-on server. Or you start mouthing off to the server admin for having a crap server just because your not doing very well. If you don't like the people or the server, simply leave and find another one. You have loads to choose from.

10. Read up on other tips for better game play

Why? Because there is a lot of useful information that is not covered here which can help big-time. Understand how the game works and you might just make it out of noob city alive.
